This podcast series is centered around three professional African American businessmen who have transformed their various careers from athletes, to one career path to a totally
different career path.
Kevin Dyson - Kevin is a former professional athlete. He has been a teacher, coach, athletic director, assistant principal, and currently serves as an executive principal of a middle school. Kevin is also a radio personality, and motivational speaker and presenter. He holds a bachelor’s degree, two master’s degrees and a doctorate in education.
Joey Kent -- Joey is a former professional athlete. He has worked in the insurance industry, general sales, and is currently in pharmaceutical sales. Joey is also a radio personality, as well as the co-owner and co-founder of That Legendary Play, a sports memorabilia company. He holds a degree in marketing.
Todd Campbell – Todd is a former college athlete. He has been a teacher, coach, athletic director, assistant principal, executive principal, and college professor. He currently serves as the CEO of a non-profit that helps students and families from at-risk neighborhoods. Todd is also speaker and presenter on such topics as cultural diversity and educational leadership. He holds a bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate in education.
The three hosts will be answering questions and giving advice based on their personal experience and perspective. Also, guests who have gone through similar career transfromations will be brought on to share and expound on their experiences and other topics discussed.
As we begin season 2, we want to wish everyone a Happy New Year from 3 the Pro Way! Season 2 begins with a conversation with former 17-year NBA veteran, Andre Miller. Andre, an University of Utah graduate, discusses his unique journey from Southern California to Salt Lake City, Utah, and the personal growth, and life lessons instilled in him from that experience. Also, Andre discusses his secret to success longevity, as he stresses the importance of always being willing to do the “little things” and stepping up to fill a gap when others are reluctant. Now mentoring young men in San Diego, CA, Andre uses his life experiences to help coach student-athletes with one last opportunity for the proverbial collegiate sport dream. Thank you for listening! This week on 3 the Pro Way, we talk with former Ford Motor Company executive, Clifton Lambreth. Clifton discusses his journey of growing up in foster care in Thomasville, NC, to realizing a dream of attending college and becoming a highly successful business executive. Now venturing in the entrepreneurial space, authoring books, and keynote speaking, Cliff shares how the lessons of his upbringing and working for a corporate business has shaped his foundation and formed his current path in business and mentoring. This week on 3 the Pro Way, we had the pleasure of talking with Heath Shuler. This Vol legend was the 1993 SEC player of the year and finished second in the Heisman race. Heath was drafted 3rd overall pick by the Washington Redskins and also played for the Saints before ending his career with the Raiders. After retiring from the NFL, Heath returned to Knoxville, completed his degree and started a successful real estate company. He was called into politics and represented North Carolina’s 11th Congressional district from 2007-2013. Heath now has transitioned back into the business sector using all of his life experiences to become highly successful. This fascinating conversation will walk you through all of the phases of Heaths life from growing up in Bryson City North Carolina, to his time at the University of Tennessee, NFL, politics and business. Heath’s story is the epitome of navigating through career and life transitions and we are excited to share this episode.
This week on 3 the Pro Way, we conversed with Tennessee Titans public address announcer, Matt Rogers. Formerly a contestant and finalist on the popular reality singing television show, American Idol, Matt discuss the lasting impact of his upbringing and the values his mother instilled in him that have helped guide his path to success. Matt also discusses the importance of being present in the moment, and the value of treating others with respect and common decency because you never know when paths may cross down the road. This story of failure and success is definitely one you do not want to miss!
This week on 3 the Pro Way, we talk with former Rhodes Scholar, and current Neurosurgery Resident Physician, Dr. Myron Rolle. Dr. Rolle, a former All-American football player from Florida State University, and eventual NFL draft pick by the Tennessee Titans, speaks about growing up in a Bahamian home and having parents that set high expectations for him and his siblings. Dr. Rolle also shares how he was able to balance and meet the demands of both academics and athletics and eventually realizing his dreams with both endeavors. This week on 3 the Pro Way, we have a conversation with Tina Tuggle. Tina discusses her journey of ascending through the Tennessee Oilers/Titans organization over her 23 year career. She began her career with the Tennessee Oilers in 1998 as the executive assistant to the Vice President/General Manager. After working closely with the team’s player development initiatives, Tina was promoted to the Director of Player Development from 2007 to 2014, becoming the first woman in NFL history to hold that title. She was then named the Director of Community Relations in 2015 and Senior Director of Community Relations in 2019. Currently Tina is the Vice President of Community Impact, a role where she oversees the development and implementation of all Titans community relations activities. Tina shares how life lessons of her upbringing and growing up in Orange Mound Tennessee, have placed her on the path of success earning her the respect of her colleagues and peers along the way. We are excited to share her story with you!

Richard, currently College Basketball television analyst for the SEC Network, discusses growing up in Athens, AL, in a home of educators and the lasting impact his upbringing had on him as he transitioned through various points of his life. Richard also shares the importance of being open to the unfamiliar because those unfamiliar opportunities may lead to something unexpected and special. Now residing in the Nashville area, Richard shares his future careers goals and the legacy he would like to leave for his own children. As 3 The Pro Way celebrates Women’s History Month, we kick off March with Uncle Nearest Whiskey Master Blender Victoria Eady Butler. You will definitely be drawn into her life journey as she shares her childhood experiences growing up in Lynchburg, TN, especially her pride in being the first and only African American to wear the homecoming queen crown of Moore County HS. Victoria shares the story of her great-great grandfather, Nearest Green, and his relationship with Jack Daniel, and how their history shaped the lives to two families and generations. Most importantly, she talks about her role as master blender for a company that is leading the industry in sales and recognition, all being lead by an all female executive team. As 3 The Pro Way podcast continues to celebrate Women’s History Month, we have a conversation with Kyrah McCowan (@kyrahmac1). Kyrah grew up in Athens, Tennessee with big dreams. After turning down D1 basketball scholarships to smaller programs, she decided to attend the University of Tennessee to study political science. There, she became involved with Tennessee’s athletic department, volunteering within the football program’s community relations and recruiting department, and later took on the role of football offensive assistant/community relations. Kyrah was then recruited to join the football staff at the University of Southern California as the Executive Assistant & Publicist to the Head Coach. She served multiple roles at USC including the Director of Operations Track & Field and Senior Director Operations Media & Publicity- Men’s/Women’s Track and Field. She is currently the Senior Program Director for the University of Texas football program. Kyrah talks about the value of building relationships, networking and being innovative in her roles. We are excited for you to hear her interesting story.
